The director of the Václav Havel Library, Martin Palouš, presented former U.S. president George W. Bush with texts written by the late Czech president Václav Havel on May 15. The documents will become part of the Freedom Collection archive, which is dedicated to those who played a role in the fight for liberty around the world.

Among the important figures featured in the Freedom Collection is the Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, who donated one of the first draft Tibetan constitutions from 1963.

The collection includes an interview given by Václav Havel less than a year before his death.

The archive is accessible both online and at the ex-president’s institute, which is part of the George W. Bush Center on the campus of the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
