Neon heart for Václav Havel to shine again – in Brussels

November 29, 2012

On Monday 17 December 2012, a neon heart by artist Jiří David, which at the close of 2002 shone from a tower at the Prague Castle, will be seen once again – on the main façade of the European Parliament in Brussels. A decade ago, the heart - referencing the one drawn frequently drawn by Václav Havel beneath his signature - symbolised his departure from high politics. This time it will mark the first anniversary of his death.
